Wart Treatments
Warts can be embarrassing and painful. Warts are generally transmitted by direct exposure with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) either through human contact or touching surfaces exposed to HPV.

Without treatment, warts can increase in size, multiply and can be transmitted to your loved ones - especially if you walk barefoot inside your home. Warts can also evolve into malignant lesions.

How do I know if I have a wart?
-
Pain with lateral pressure and squeeze
-
Skin lines are interrupted
-
Small red or black dots within the lesion
-
History of walking barefoot in public spaces (E.g. swimming pools, public showers and change rooms,
-
Direct skin contact with someone who has warts (E.g. family member, coworker, significant other, etc)
-
History of a weakened immune system

Warts can be treated with a variety of treatments. Treatment options will be discussed at your appointment.

If the wart cannot be managed by conservative methods, a surgical wart procedure may be recommended.

Generally a procedure is recommended if you experience:
-
Pus and redness
-
Infections
-
Sharp pain
-
Increased formation of warts

Before any procedure is done, a surgical consultation will be given to see if you are a good candidate for a surgical procedure.
